At least one pastoralist was killed and 47 cattle stolen on Saturday in an attack by cattle raiders in Twic EastCounty of South Sudan’s Jonglei State.
Commissioner of Twic East county Dau Akuei Jurkuch told Radio Tamazuj a group of cattle raiders attacked a cattle camp in one of the villages killing one pastoralist and raided 47 cattle.
“Cattle raiders coming from Pibor attacked a cattle camp in the area. A pastoralist was killed and they raided all the 90 cattle at the camp,” said Jurkuch.
He said the authorities did not manage to follow the attackers.
The commissioner accused a group of cattle raiders from Pibor area of being behind the attack.
