3 traders killed on Tambura-Central African Republic road

Description:

Three of six traders traveling on the road linking South Sudan’s Tambura State to the Central African Republic were ambushed and killed on Wednesday, authorities confirmed. Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Thursday, the state deputy governor, James Adu Votoki said the incident occurred in River Duma area, situated three kilometers from the Central African Republic border. Adu accused members of the Ambororo Arab nomadic tribe of involvement in the ambush. However, he said the security situation was now calm. The government official urge traders to avoid the road until it is secure while citizens stay calm as state authorities address the security situation. Last week, Gbudue State authorities ordered the Ambororo people working in the market and those in the state to leave within 24 hours.
