The Cueibet County Commissioner has reported that two motorists were killed and a woman wounded after they were attacked by unknown gunmen between the two counties of Cueibet of Lakes State and Tonj South of Warrap State.
The victims were travelling to Wau capital of Western Bahr el Ghazal passing via Tonj South.
Mayom Malek told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that the two men were shot dead in an ambush just 10 kilometers from Tonj South's capital.
The official said the attackers were not arrested but the Tonj South authorities confirmed that they are investigating the matter. The woman was taken to the hospital and the two men were sent home for burials in Malou-pec bordering Tonj South.
He said the local youths from Cueibet were angry when they heard the news but he convinced them to wait and see whether the Tonj South authorities will investigate the incident.
Mayom asked the community to stop killings amongst themselves.
