An individual broke into another IDP's shelter in Sector 1 and stole money.

A group of IDPs attempted to steal a solar panel battery in Sector 5. When approached by UNMISS personnel, the group threw stones, injuring 1 UNMISS soldier. 2 individuals were arrested in Unity State, Rubkona County.
Illegal Items found in POC site in Bentiu
A member of a Community Watch Group recovered an AK-47 rifle and one magazine with 27 live rounds buried in an abandoned shelter at the PoC site. UN police collected the items for safe keeping.
2 people breached UNMISS perimeter
On 13.2.2018. Juba. Two people believed to be being chased by South Sudan National Police breached the UNMISS perimeter. They were apprehended by UNMISS and one of the intruders had a pistol and gunshot wound. Both were handed over to localauthorities.
There was a demonstration in the Bentiu POC
On 8.2.2018. Bentiu. There was a demonstration in the Bentiu POC related to grievances about the recruitment process of NGOs. Non-Nuer staff remained in the humanitarian hub for the duration of the demonstration.No injuries were reported.
