South Sudan's rebels accused government troops on Thursday of launching fresh attacks on their forces near Nasser town in 'Latjor State', located in what is otherwise known as Sobat State. SPLA-IO military spokesman William Gatjiath Deng told Radio Tamazuj today that their positions at Kedbek area near Nasser town came under assault by government troops yesterday but they were repulsed. “The government forces attempted to go to Kedbek area, they attacked our positions at Kedbek area, but we managed to repulse the attack, and they returned to Nasser town,” said Gatjiath. He claimed that the government forces used military helicopters in clashes and bombed citizens around Nasser town on Thursday, but nobody was reported killed.
