On 3.12.2016. Juba. An UNMISS international staff member driving a UN vehicle near UNMISS tomping was stopped and harassed by a group of heavily armed SPLA soldiers over issues related to a passing VIP convoy at around 14:30hrs. The SPLA elements reportedly acted in an aggressive manner towards the UNMISS staffer and an arriving UN Security team. IDs from said staffer and security team were confiscated while the soldiers demanded 2000SSP for the staffers not to be taken to the SPLA barracks. The amount was paid and the staffer was released.
