Two South Sudanese citizens are dead after their vehicle came under attack outside of Yei yesterday, their employers said.
The vehicle belonging to the Danish Demining Group organization was carrying seven passengers to work from Yei in Central Equatoria state in the early morning Tuesday when it came under attack.
Two staff of DDG were shot and killed while the others in the car were unharmed.
"It is with great sadness that we received the news this morning about the tragic deaths of two staff members in South Sudan. Our thoughts are with the family members and colleagues in South Sudan," said DDG Head Tammy Hall.
"On behalf of the Danish Refugee Council and the Danish Demining Group, I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the families of our fallen colleagues, and to the entire South Sudan team," Tammy said.
