Headmaster, teacher killed in Lakes state revenge attack

Description:

July 7, 2015 (RUMBEK) - A school headmaster and a teacher were killed in what authorities described as a revenge attack in South Sudan’s Lakes state capital, Rumbek on Monday.

The gruesome incident reportedly occurred between Ayen-mayar and Wulu county.

A criminal investigation department officer said Maker Mabor Dharuai was killed on Monday in a remote village of Ayen-mayar while riding his motorcycle to Wulu county.

“Late Maker Mabor Dharuai was reporting to his workplace in Wulu. While riding his motorcycle, an unknown gunman ambushed him and killed him [and] we suspect this as revenge killing”, said James Ugolo.

The Rumbek East county commissioner said his administration was currently facing high increase in crime rates, but stressed the county administration was trying its best to restore law and order despite the public’s refusal to share information with authorities.
