At least one person was killed and two children abducted in an attack on a commercial vehicle traveling along the Juba-Bor road on Friday, several sources said. Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Saturday, the deputy chairperson of the Jonglei Drivers’ Union, Philip Thon said the incident occurred when a pickup truck carrying goods and passengers en route to Fangak State was attacked by an armed group near Mangalla town on Friday. “The truck loaded with goods left Konyokonyo in Juba in the morning. It was also carrying about seven passengers. When it arrived at Panpitiya area, it was attacked. One person succumbed to his injuries at Bor hospital and two children were abducted,” he said. Meanwhile, Jonglei information minister Atong Kuol Manyang confirmed the incident.
