Police authorities in Bor town of South Sudan’s Jonglei State on Sunday arrested four members of a gang that has been terrorizing the people of Bor town. Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday, Chol Deng Achiek, Jonglei’s deputy police commissioner said the four men were arrested during a crackdown on criminals in Bor Town. “We got those gangsters at their hideout at Nigel neighborhood. When we tried to arrest them, they resisted and fought back because some of them were armed. But members of the security forces overpowered them and four unarmed young men were caught. But the rest run away with the guns,” he explained. Deng stated that no one was hurt in the confrontation but said the criminals were found in possession of illicit drugs. He noted that they will continue to pursue the other criminals while beefing up security within the town.
