Youth trained on technology to report SGBV cases

Juba, May 30 2017, Community Empowerment for Progress Organization CEPO has trained 35 youth in Juba as Community Reporters on Phone SMS model for reporting cases of Sex and Gender Based Violence across South Sudan.
 
James Bidal told Radio Journalists on Tuesday that the members’ reports through technology will improve documentation, advocacy, civic engagement and programming response in the country.
 
He believes the presence of the telecommunication companies will make the initiative effective.
 
Joseph James, Deputy Chairperson of Juba City Council Youth Union expresses readiness to put the knowledge into practice.
 
The participants were drawn from Juba City, Kator and Munuki Payams.
 
Last week, CEPO selected 20 members of organized forces for training to handle the cases of sexual and gender-based violence.
