Description:
On 2.3.2017. Bentiu. UNMISS observed a battalion sized SPLA element move on foot on a northerly axis to attend a ‘grand assembly’ with SPLA-IO (Taban Deng) in an area between Tamor and Mayom. The 4th Div HQ indicated that there was a program organised at national level whereby the SPLA and SPLA-IO (Taban Deng) were to integrate in the near future and to operate as one force.
