Nairobi, July 22nd 2016, Community Empowerment for Progress Organization (CEPO) and the r0g Agency for Open Culture and Critical Transformation will tomorrow host a strategic forum on countering online hate speech and mitigating incitement to violence in South Sudan.
The event will take place at Sentrim 680 (Sixeighty) Hotel Kenyatta Avenue, arrival TIme is 9:00am -9:30am
The main aim of the forum is to engage the South Sudanese online community in developing a workable plan in combating hate speech under the #defyhatenow project.
#DefyHateNow is an initiative to combat social media hate speech by the r0g_agency for open culture and critical transformation, Berlin and the Community Empowerment for Progress Organisation (CEPO), Juba, funded by the zivik Programme of ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen) with means of the German Federal Foreign Office.
