South Sudan National Security Service has released Pathomi Ayul who was detained on May 20th 2017. Community Empowerment for Progress Organization applauds the intelligent service for listing to its appeal for the unconditional release of the Journalists.
The Executive Director for Community Empowerment for Progress Organization Mr. Edmund Yakani says the unconditional release of the journalist demonstrates good gesture by the security operatives in respecting pubic calls.
He appreciated the government of South Sudan for its cooperation in releasing the journalists who has been in detention for six months in the National Security Service Detention facility. Mr. Yakani made this statement after Pathomi was freed on 5th of January 2018.
Mr. Yakani added that, the organizations and its Lawyer Counsel Ajo Noel Julius work hard and engaged in dialogue for Pathomi to be released, he appreciated the lawyer for his well done work and the family of Pathomi for being patient all this time.
