Heavy fighting has resumed between government and armed opposition forces

On 25.10.2016. Yei. Heavy fighting has resumed between government and armed opposition forces in highly contented suburb of Yei town. According to the reports coming from Yei, the two opposing sides have clashed this morning just few miles in the outskirt of Yei town along Yei-Mardi road where the two sides fought bitterly war on Monday in which opposition forces claimed it has defeated the government forces and scattered them into the thick forest of Central Equatoria, whilst some soldiers have abandoned their vehicles and running towards Juba on foot said the representative of SPLA-IO who spoke to SSL in condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to speak to media. The resumption of this morning clashes came after the defeated government soldiers on Monday retreated to their barracks in Yei town with bodies of their dead colleagues. Different sources within military barracks in Yei confirmed the arrival of ten dead bodies of government soldiers suspected to have being killed in the ambush laid by the rebels. The report further added that several vehicles have returned from frontlines with injured soldiers and they are expected to be airlifted to Juba this afternoon for further treatment.
