Description:
A UN Agency aircraft that departed Gambella to Wau-Shilluk to conduct a food drop mission was instructed by the Malakal airport control tower to return to Gambella following SPLA orders. The SPLA threatened to bring down the aircraft if it proceeded with the mission because the aircraft/operation was not cleared. Also the SPLA at the airport threatened the UN Agency representative if there was a recurrence.
