Unknown armed men entered the PoC site and shot dead a male IDP

On 16.3.2017.Bentiu. Unknown armed men entered the PoC site and shot dead a male IDP of about 55 years old while sleeping. The reason for the killing was unknown. UNPOL responded and collected four empty cartridges from the scene of the incident.

3 Young IDPs stoned UNMISS vehicle

On 16.3.2017.Juba. A UN vehicle driven by UNMISS staff member inside UN House compound and along the perimeter of PoC1 was stoned by 3 young IDPs. Nobody was injured and no arrests were made.

UN Police and FPU patrol team in a UN vehicle were in the PoC when the vehicle was stoned by IDPs.

On 10.3.2017.Bentiu. UN Police and FPU patrol team in a UN vehicle were in the PoC when the vehicle was stoned by IDPs. The vehicle was slightly damaged and 2 IDPs were detained and delivered to the PoC Community leadership.

4 Children injured in a grenade explosion in the PoC

· On 10.3.2017.Bentiu. Unity 4 IDP children were injured when a grenade they had found exploded in their shelter within the PoC. It is unclear where the children had first found the grenade.

Warrior security guards apprehended 4 suspects residing at the PoC 2

On 5.3.2017. Wau. Warrior security guards apprehended 4 suspects residing at the PoC 2 site for stealing concertina wire from the UNMISS compound perimeter fence. The offenders were handed over to UNPOL.

Unknown offenders cut the concertina wire on the perimeter fence

On 3.3.2017. Wau. Unknown offenders cut the concertina wire on the perimeter fence and attempted to gain entry to the UNMISS Field Office compound. UN Security responded to the scene causing the offenders to leave the area without making entry.

UN Police located two IDPs with spears

On 3.3.2017.Bentiu. UN Police and FPU Officers located two IDPs in the PoC one of whom was in possession of a spear. The weapon was seized and both IDPs were taken to the detention facility.

A search operation conducted in PoC 1 by an UNMISS integrated team led to the discovery and confiscation of weapons

On 22.2.2017.Juba.A search operation conducted in PoC 1 by an UNMISS integrated team led to the discovery and confiscation of thirty one rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, one AK-47 rifle magazine, military uniforms, edged weapons and other illegal items. The operation was conducted without incident.
