- On 21.12.2016. Juba. A UN Agency national staff member was assaulted by a group of SPLA soldiers. The staff member was driving an official UN vehicle behind an SPLA vehicle that suddenly stopped and blocked his way. The UN driver was forced out of the vehicle at gunpoint and made to kneel on the ground while he was physically assaulted. The SPLA soldiers reportedly inquired as to why the UN vehicle/driver was following them. After threatening to shoot the staff member, the soldiers left. The staff member was not seriously injured.
