Two killed, one woman kidnapped in Abyei

At least two men were killed and a 20-year-old woman kidnapped in an armed ambush by unknown gunmen on Wednesday morning in Majak district of the disputed Abyei region. Majak County Commissioner, Gweny Ayuong Yuar told Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday that armed men attacked civilians who were traveling from Majak to Tajali areas. The victims identified as 65-year-old Luar Mayol Deng and 45-year-old  Lal Deng Kon died in the attack, while 23-year-old woman Acheng Kon the wife of the late Luar Mayol Deng was kidnapped. A second woman managed to escape from the scene. Commissioner Gweny said it is not yet clear who the attackers are and where they come from.
